The wonder boy!

This incident happened few months back.
There was a fair, cute and a neatly groomed boy in my class. Initially the boy was as quiet as a clam sea but as the time went by, he developed better competency in both english and dzongkha which ignited his talkativeness. He even displayed interest in coming near to my table and communicating with me about anything , almost daily. One day, the boy came to me and whispered in my ears , ' mam, can i tell u one thing? ' to which i agreed. With a slight smile on his lips, he told me something which took my breath away for few seconds. He said, ' mam, yesterday my Apa(father) beat my Ama(mother) with my guitar and the guitar broke.' Upon hearing this, i couldn't believe my ears at first and to confirm what i heard was correct, i asked him in a loud voice(may be i was bit shocked), 'what ? why? what did u do? how did u feel? were u scared? did u cry? or did your ama cry? ...and when i realized, i already had asked lots of questions. The boy was so innocent that he was laughing while sharing his real life story. Alas!, how cold i felt knowing how pure and straight minded creature he is. Even my eyes were filled with tears thinking of what i would have felt if i were in his shoes. After few minutes of my silence, he started to answer my questions. He said, ' my father beat my mother because my mother has a boyfriend. And my father even broke my mothers phone.' I nodded without knowing how to react. And what touched my heart so much was, at the end of his narration, he told me that he will never marry or find a girlfriend because girlfriend/wife will go for another man/boyfriend. After that day, he often used to say,' i won't marry because wife or girlfriend will look for another boyfriend which i don't like.'. ..and my answer was the same, " not all the wife or girlfriend will do the same. " .
